Get ready to impress your guests with this adorable wreath featuring a cute “Every Bunny Welcome” sign and a variety of ribbons and garland. Let’s dive into the steps and create a delightful Easter wreath that will brighten up your home and spread the holiday cheer!

Materials You’ll Need

• “Every Bunny Welcome” Easter-themed sign (from Dollar Tree) or a similar sign
• Assorted ribbons of various textures and widths (most from Dollar Tree)
• Easter-themed garland (from Dollar Tree or any suitable garland)
• Square wreath form (found at Dollar Tree)
• White or light-colored full-sized pipe cleaners, cut in half
• Scissors

Step 1: Cutting and Preparing the Ribbons

Before we begin crafting the spiky bows, we’ll need to cut and prepare the ribbons. You’ll need a total of seven different ribbons, with varying widths and textures. Most of the ribbons can be sourced from Dollar Tree, but feel free to add a few unique ones from other stores like Michael’s if you desire. Cut the ribbons into 12-inch pieces and add a v-cut to the ends to create a decorative finish.

Step 2: Crafting the Spiky Bows

Now, let’s create the spiky bows that will adorn our wreath. Start with the 4-inch wide ribbon as the base of the bow. Then, layer two 3-inch ribbons in an “x” shape over the 4-inch ribbon as seen above. Place the last 3-inch ribbon and the 1.5-inch ribbon parallel to the 4-inch ribbon. Gather all the ribbons in the center and use a pre-cut pipe cleaner to secure them together. Repeat this process to create a total of nine spiky bows.

Step 3: Preparing the Wreath Form and Attaching the Sign

Before adding the spiky bows, we’ll first attach the adorable “Every Bunny Welcome” sign to the wreath form. Position the sign as you like on the wreath form and use pipe cleaners to secure it in place. You can see how I chose to position it below. Alternatively, you can use zip-ties or any other suitable attachment material you have available.

Step 4: Assembling the Spiky Bows on the Wreath

Now that the sign is attached to the wreath form, let’s start adding the spiky bows. Begin by attaching one of the bows at the top point of the wreath. Continue by attaching bows to the other two corners that are visible and then fill in the rest of the wreath with the remaining bows. Remember to fluff the bows to make the most of the available space.

Step 5: Embellishing the Wreath with Easter Garland

To add some extra charm to the wreath, we’ll use the Easter-themed garland. Remove the garland pieces from the string they came attached to. Cut the garland into smaller pieces and create bows with 1/2-inch wide ribbons to garnish each garland piece. Add a touch of cohesion by placing a small cotton ball or white pompom in the center of each bow. Use the leftover string from the garland to tie the garland pieces onto the wreath, covering any remaining gaps.

During one of my recent wanderings through the aisles of Walmart, a burst of color caught my attention. Nestled among the shelves were these delightful mini flower bundles, each priced at just $.97. Their vibrant hues and delicate petals were a reminder that beauty often resides in simplicity. These tiny bundles held so much potential, waiting to be transformed into something truly enchanting. Along with some floral wire, also conveniently available at Walmart, these bundles will form the foundation of our project.

Bringing Everything Together

The first step in crafting our Easter wreath is preparing the  flower bundles. This process involves fluffing out each bundle, enhancing its volume, and giving it a fuller, more visually appealing look. It’s like breathing life into these bundles, allowing them to bloom to their fullest potential. Once done, we’re ready to start arranging them into a shape that’s reminiscent of a carrot, marking the beginning of our creative journey.

Our carrot starts taking shape at the tip. Arrange three bundles together to form a point, with one bunch protruding slightly further than the two on either side. At the juncture where all three stems meet, bind them together using our floral wire. This small cluster forms the base of our carrot, setting the stage for the layers to come.

Next, pick up three more flower bundles. This time, however, ensure all three are at the same height. After wiring them together, attach this second layer to the first bundle we made. As we add each layer, our carrot will start to take shape, growing in size and vibrancy.

Then, move on to create a larger flower bundle using four mini-bunches. Following the same process, ensure all four are at the same height, wire them together at the point where they meet, and attach this third layer to the previous two. Each layer adds depth to the carrot shape, making it fuller and more realistic.

For the final layer, use five mini-bunches of flowers. Fan them out as before and attach them where they converge. It’s essential to pre-bend the outer flowers outwards for easier attachment later. This final layer is secured to the previous three layers using floral wire, completing the body of our carrot.

Now that our carrot is fully formed, it’s time to add character by incorporating some greenery at the top. Attach a small block of floral foam to the bottom of your bouquet using floral wire. For added security, reinforce it with a dab of hot glue. To give it a neater finish, wrap the foam in a piece of burlap.

Adding the greenery is perhaps the most exciting part of the process. It breathes life into the carrot decoration, adding depth, variation, and a dash of realism. Use both larger and smaller pieces of greenery, arranging them until you’re satisfied with the look.

Finally, turn your attention to the open space in the center of our carrot. Here, create a big, attractive bow out of natural-looking ribbon. I’ve chosen burlap-style ribbon, yellow and pink checkered ribbon (to match my peach, pink, and yellow flowers), and a smaller white and sage green checkered ribbon. Attach your bow with pipe cleaners to the middle section and fan it out to cover the empty space.

And there you have it, folks! You’ve successfully created a charming carrot-shaped Easter wreath that will surely add a festive touch to your home. Step 1: Gather the Materials

To begin, we will need four pool noodles and a leaning sign from the dollar store. The sign I chose happened to be a Halloween leftover that I snagged at Christmas time for a mere $1.25. Don’t hesitate to ask the store manager for discounts on out-of-season items. Let’s turn these dollar store treasures into an adorable St. Patrick’s Day porch decoration.

Step 2: Embrace the Colors

St. Patrick’s Day is synonymous with the color green, and I absolutely adore it! I also have a soft spot for rainbows, as does my enthusiastic 3-year-old, who declares that his favorite color is “all the colors of the rainbow.” Hence, I decided to create a rainbow effect using four pool noodles—red, orange, green, and blue. Feel free to choose your preferred colors from the wide selection available at the dollar store.

Step 3: Cutting the Pool Noodles

Grab your pool noodles and cut each of them in half lengthwise. You can use scissors, a box knife, or any other cutting tool you prefer. Personally, I found that a box knife effortlessly sliced through the pool noodles like butter. It’s incredibly satisfying to work with these soft, pliable pool noodles!

Step 4: Attaching the Pool Noodles to the Sign

Take half of the cut pool noodles and position them on the front of your sign. The sign may have a black, brown, or white frame. If you’re not fond of the frame color, you can always use the back of the sign. I chose the front, as I appreciated the contrasting black frame. The length of the leaning sign perfectly matches that of the full-sized pool noodles, making it an ideal fit for this project. Line up the pool noodles along the top edge of the sign, allowing a slight overlap with the frame. This gives the decoration a polished and finished appearance.

Step 5: Securing the Pool Noodles

To ensure that the pool noodles stay in place while the glue dries, grab a long bamboo skewer. Align a couple of pool noodles at the edge and insert the skewer through them. Gradually add the third and fourth pool noodles as you continue pushing the skewer through. This clever trick will keep the pool noodles aligned and secure. Start by applying hot glue along the bottom or top edge of the sign, adhering the pool noodles to it.

Step 6: Additional Support with Bamboo Skewers

To reinforce the structure, insert another bamboo skewer about a quarter of the way down the sign, piercing through all four pool noodles. Repeat this process along the length of the sign using approximately 5-6 skewers. Remember, these skewers are temporary and will be removed later. Apply hot glue between the dowel rods, attaching the pool noodles firmly to the sides of the sign until you reach the bottom. Be careful not to glue the skewers, as they need to be removed at the end.

Step 7: Finishing Touches

As you near the bottom of the sign, you may notice slight variations in the length of the pool noodles. In addition, some pool noodles might not be perfectly aligned or may have a slight bend, but fret not! These minor details can easily be addressed. For instance, at the bottom of my sign, the blue pool noodle is a couple of inches shorter than the others. To rectify any bending, you can gently bend any pool noodle with a slight bend into the desired position and secure it with glue. Remember to glue down all the pool noodles at the end of the sign, ensuring a neat and cohesive look.

Step 8: Securing the Pool Noodles Together

With the pool noodles in place, it’s time to give them some extra stability. Apply hot glue where the pool noodles are touching, gently separating them with your fingers to create small gaps for the glue. Repeat this process all the way down the length of the noodles, firmly adhering them to one another. This step ensures that the rainbow effect stays intact and adds an extra layer of durability to the decoration, especially since it will be displayed outside.

Step 9: Adding the Pot of Gold

Now, it’s time to introduce the final star of our St. Patrick’s Day porch decoration—the pot of gold! Another fantastic find from the dollar store, this delightful ornament will cover any unevenness or gaps at the bottom of the pool noodles. Securely attach the pot of gold to the sign using hot glue, ensuring it sits snugly and adds a touch of magic to your creation.

Step 10: Displaying Your Rainbow Sign

Congratulations! You’ve successfully transformed a Halloween sign into a whimsical St. Patrick’s Day porch decoration. Find the perfect spot by your front door or porch to showcase your vibrant creation. What Do I Need?

First, you’ll want to make sure that you have the correct supplies that will help you to get the best results. Here are the two things that you will need: 

• A hairdryer with some type of diffuser attachment

I have the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, and I absolutely love it!

• A good-quality steamer

I have this steamer from Amazon, and it has worked amazingly well for me.

Determining the Problem

Next, you will need to determine the problem. There are two possible scenarios that can coincide separately or together. I purchased my silk flowers from Dollar Tree, and when I bought them, they were already smashed. This is what mine looked like before fluffing it:

Take a look at your flower. Every silk flower is made up of two parts: the stem and the petals. At the top of the stem are plastic leaves that help connect the petals to the stem. The first possible scenario is that this part of the flower has been squashed, making the flower appear more oval-like than circular. The second possible issue is that the flower petals themselves can be smashed together, bent, or warped in some way. Determine which of these issues you have, or if both problems are present. In my case, both issues were present.

How to Fix It

If your problem is with the plastic stem/leaves of the flower, pull out your blow dryer! Make sure to set it on low, and make sure you are using some type of diffuser attachment. Whatever you have on hand will work great. Hold the flower upright and spin it between your fingers while letting the warm air from the dryer slowly warm up the plastic. Only do this for a minute or so–you don’t want the plastic to become too hot, or even melt.

Once the plastic has warmed up, it will become more pliable. Use your hands to mush it into the proper position, and make sure you smush it in every direction. The goal is to create a flower that is less oblong and more circular, just like a real flower.

If your problem is with the silk petals, then pull out your steamer. Remember, steamers were created to get rid of wrinkles in any type of fabric. Personally, I have used my steamer for many different things. From curtains to bedspreads, to clothes, and more, my steamer has come in handy. Since the flower petals are made of fabric, you can also use a steamer on them!

First, turn your steamer on. Once there is a steady flow of steam, with one hand hold your steamer, and with the other, hold your flower sideways so that the steam flows directly into the petals. Spin the flower between your fingers as the steam works its magic on the petals. You don’t need to do this for long. In less than a minute, you should already see the flower starting to open up. Once you see this happening, turn off the steamer and go in with your fingers. You can pull apart petals that are stuck together as well as puff up petals that are bent over or smashed. 

At this point, the flower will have almost doubled in size from where it was before using these techniques!

Conclusion

Silk flowers are some of the best decorations for your home, to include in a wreath, or to use in lieu of a traditional wedding bouquet or wedding flowers! Even so, they are some of the most fragile replacements for real flowers. Being able to re-fluff and revive them so that they can be used more than once saves both money and time searching for new artificial flowers.
